Painting asbestos
If asbestos is present or suspected in any item or surface, exercise extreme caution. Read the further advice, which is given in a BCF Information Paper "Asbestos and Decorative Coatings" and in a National Society for Clean Air leaflet on asbestos [ www.nsca.org.uk]
Professional painters and decorators must comply with asbestos regulations and follow HSE guidance on handling asbestos–containing materials. Details of these are included in the BCF Information Paper.
