Coatings Care - The International Care and Sustainability Programme for the Coatings Industry
- An Introduction
VIEW PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENTS
COATINGS CARE is a worldwide umbrella programme for the paint and printing ink manufacturing industries.
The objective of COATINGS CARE is to improve the performance of the Coatings industry in the fields of the environment, safety, health, distribution and product stewardship.
COATINGS CARE will help companies to adopt a pro-active approach on community relations and emergency response and also to demonstrate this commitment to a wider public
COATINGS CARE is fully compatible with the chemical industry's RESPONSIBLE CARE programme, but the Codes and Guidance have been specifically designed for the needs of the Coatings industry.
COATINGS CARE is a voluntary programme which describes good management practices. It offers participating companies the opportunity to pursue a common, effective management approach for their health, safety and environmental programmes and advises them how to achieve high standards by self assessment and by measurement of improved performance.
The BCF Coatings Care Programme demonstrates that the UK Coatings industry cares about the health and welfare of employees, the safe operation of our processes, and shows our determination to contribute actively to a sustainable environment.
We wish to involve not only our member companies but also our customers, suppliers and contractors.
Coatings Care will acknowledge legitimate public concerns and respond to them. As a successful voluntary programme, it provides a basis for sensible legislation when this is seen to be necessary.
Coatings Care makes good business sense, will reduce waste and make the best use of resources. It will help companies to understand good management practices and implement them.
The Coatings industry is committed to this international programme for performance improvement.
