A communication from Tony Mash to BCF Members, 2nd December 2011
Dear Members of the BCF,
While recognising that the BCF does send out a prodigious number of emails to its membership covering business, technical and regulatory information relevant to the Coatings Industry, I would ask for your indulgence as I add one more email to your inbox to share with you a personal decision that I have taken.
At this week’s BCF Board of Directors meeting, I announced my intention to retire from the BCF at the end of next May after the BCF Annual Conference at Worsley Park near Manchester. By then, I will have spent over three years at the helm of your Federation and have enjoyed every minute of it. The Industry and the BCF have come a long way in that time, and I have been proud to have contributed to the progress that has been made in the way that the BCF supports its growing membership. Above all, it has been a privilege to work with such a wonderful group of people in the Coatings Industry and the Federation.
‘Time flies’ as they say, and my decision has been based solely on a wish to apply myself to a number of life goals outside Coatings and Chemicals. My interests in the arts, travel and my family in both the UK and the USA have prompted me to decide to dip out of full time work but retain linkages to Industry by offering to undertake some consulting work in the future.
I would like to particularly thank our President, Steve Snaith, for his support and his understanding of my decision. I have given him my commitment to lead the process to find my successor and ensure that there is a smooth handover to your next Chief Executive.
Best regards and all good wishes for Christmas and the New Year.
Tony Mash
Chief Executive
