Apprenticeships

14th January 2011

See here for details of the Apprenticeship training launch which took place in September 2011.

Labour Market Surveys confirm and the Leitch report concluded:

"the workforce employed in the UK Coatings Industry is an ageing workforce where qualification levels are low".

This ongoing situation, has led to the recruitment and development of young people becoming a critical part of the industry's training strategy, which is why the BCF worked with Proskills to help produce an "Apprenticeship Framework", based on the BCF Technical Certificate modules.

The Government is backing Apprenticeships and Proskills (the Sector Skills Council for the Coatings Industry) ensures the right frameworks exist to support skills investment.

The objective of the Apprenticeship Framework is therefore, to offer companies an unparalleled way to attract and develop, the best young people into the coatings industry.
