Updated lead paint guidelines

The BCF has updated and revised the 'Lead in painted surfaces - Guide on repainting and removal for DIY and professional painters and decorators' leaflet which was last comprehensively revised in 1998. The updated guidance outlines the risks and effects of lead exposure before giving clear guidance on how to repaint, remove or cover old lead painted surfaces. It contains links to other sources of information including how to test for lead and who can help with removal. It also includes a short list of dos and don'ts to help users of the guide.
